SOCIAL JUSTICE
Our Social Justice Committee supports our members and neighbors in living out their baptismal covenant to “strive for peace and justice in all the earth” in line with social teachings of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America.
From engaging in nonviolent direct action through the Black Lives Matter movement and supporting the work of the Poor People's Campaign - A National Call for Moral Revival, to engaging in Ecumenical Advocacy Day with the New York State Council of Churches and organizing with Schenectady Clergy Against Hate, we seek to not only directly serve Christ in the face of our neighbors but to heed the prophet Micah's call to "Do justice!" and work to heal the systemic sins of our society as well.
