COMMUNITY SERVICE
Our Community Service Committee, chaired by Pete Jones, guides our members in serving Christ in the face of their neighbors.
We do this through a wide variety of ministries and partnerships from serving in the Schenectady Community Ministries Summer Lunch Program, to making Thanksgiving baskets with Concerned for the Hungry to organizing cherished annual events for local families like Schenectady HelpPortrait and our Community Egg Hunt at the Rotterdam Community Center.
We also steward the "Give Hope at Messiah" program, which collects funds and other donations for specific nonprofits each season of the church year. Recent recipients include the Schenectady CROP Walk and Lutheran Disaster Response's work serving refugees from the war in Ukraine.
